For a real foodie, few things are as gratifying as a properly made menu -when each ingredient comes together correctly, it’s practically magical. On the other hand, a poor meal can ruin an otherwise entertaining experience, so it’s a good idea to do some research and look around for thoughts and opinions prior to deciding where to eat. As if that does not make matters complex enough, there’s a whole lot more to contemplate about a restaurant than only the cuisine! The ambience of a place can really make a difference in our general experience, whether it besnotty and unhelpful personnel or a badly behaved child the second table over. But it’s not all unfavorable, naturally – an incredible environment can make a decent dish into a fantastic dish! But it’s not all unfavorable, naturally – an incredible environment can make a decent dish into a fantastic dish!

We have lived within San Antonio for a long time now, and we have built upa reasonably respectable repertoire of restaurants we cherish, which range from tiny mom-and-pop establishments to magnificent fine dining, andlisted below are a few of our all-time faves (even though it was so difficult tochoose!). This is what people on Yelp.com are saying on the subject of ourfavorites:

No Chinese restaurant has ever made me have cravings during the week!

Friendly service, great food, and yummy boba drinks! (I recommend the taro milk mmm!)
Also, the peking duck and walnut shrimp are a home run. Just try it- you will never be disappointed!

2. Fig Tree Restaurant

San Antonio, TX 78205

I have nothing negative to say about this place. Dinner was very good and our waiter was great. This restaurant is a first glass place and that is nice because there are a handful of restaurants that are simply serving food, fast. I think we paid about $100.00 for the two of us. We had an awesome dinner and I highly recommend The Fig Tree. Try and get a table near the river because it was so nice just relaxing outside watching the people and boats.

Costa Mesa, CA

3. Boudro’s On the River Walk

421 E Commerce St
San Antonio, TX 78205

(210) 224-8484

Tried Boudro’s for the first time and it won’t be the last! Really delicious and guacamole made tableside was fabulous! We had kids with us and since one wasn’t feeling good, I got to order a kid’s meal of grilled fish. It was outstanding! Other adults in our party tried shrimp and chicken and everyone loved their entrees!

Suggest reservations–we went early and it was packed by the time we left!
